THE DIRECTOR'S NOTEBOOK
The Director's Notebook is for directors preparing for production or for directors who want to learn how to pre-visualize and prepare for a shoot.
Rachel Feldman is a director with more than 50 hours of network television directing experience who began her career as a storyboard artist for directors Brian DePalma, Peter Yates and Jerry Belson. She has taught directing in the MFA program at The USC School of Cinematic Arts and at Loyola Marymount University.
Please bring a typed two-page scene in professional screenplay format (doesn't matter what it is) and lots of paper with a hard surface on which to write and draw (yes, draw - even for those drawing-challenged), writing instruments, and a ruler. A three ring notebook filled with paper is a great idea.
Ideally, the class works best when the director has a specfic project she is envisioning, but it can also be utilized for those who are looking for general tools of director prep.
