MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Jane Clark
A writer/director/producer based in Los Angeles and owner of FilmMcQueen (Website). In February 2014, she released her second feature as writer/director/producer through Gravitas Ventures - CRAZY BITCHES (Trailer), a horror-comedy-sex romp, which enjoyed a successful international festival run with nominations for Best Film, Best Soundtrack and Best Supporting Actress and a Best Ensemble Cast award at QCinema. Her feature-directing debut was METH HEAD (Trailer), starring Lukas Haas, which garnered 12 awards including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Lead Actor. The film was released through Random Media in June 2014. In 2010 she produced the feature film, ELENA UNDONE for writer/director Nicole Conn, which was released through Wolfe Releasing in February, 2013. Prior to that she made 7 shorts that won awards, played numerous festivals and in some cases earned distribution. She started as an actor in stage, screen and TV including a recurring role on CHICAGO HOPE.
I know from first-hand experience how difficult the job of getting an acting job is. Having been on the other side of the camera for the last 10 years, I have a unique view of both the actor's job and the director/producer's needs and expectations and have cast all my films myself, with the exception of Lukas Haas and Theo Rossi in METH HEAD. I am happy to give feed back about specific work, answer questions you might have and relate some of the things that I think are important for an actor to bring to an audition.
Once registered, please send me a pic, resume and reel. Also please let me know whether your strength/interest is in comedy or drama. (I don't do straight comedies, but I do have more comedic oriented scenes to share.) I will be pulling from scripts that I have in development and assigning roles as appropriately as I can based on the information you share. You'll get the sides several days before the audition. I'll expect you to show up prepared. We'll provide a reader for you, as I personally don't believe two actors reading opposite each other is an even playing field from which to judge the work.
