Film Festival Q&A with Veteran Producer/Director Dawn Fields
Hi Ladies, I recently completed a short film that I Wrote/Produced, Fiorella, and was curious about all things film festivals. How do you decide which ones to apply to? How many should you apply to? How much should you spend on each Festival? Whats a Film Festival strategy?
I know I'm not the only one, which is the purpose of this Q&A with Dawn Fields. I'll be providing some snacks, but please bring something to add to the potluck (food or drinks). Here is the schedule for the evening:

Dawn Fields (IMDb) is a Los Angeles-based producer, writer/director and owner of the feature film production company Palm Street Films, LLC. Her short film Fragile Storm, starring Lance Henriksen, was on the festival circuit for over a year playing in 25 festivals which garnered 19 nominations and 13 wins.
She has over twenty years of experience working as a producer, writer, director, assistant director and editor and has a background in acquisitions, development, crowdfunding and film finance. She has worked for such companies as LucasFilm, Brett Ratner's Rat Productions, Mark Johnson (Gran Via Productions), Barrie M. Osbourne (Lord of The Rings, Matrix), Twentieth Century Fox, Tri-Star, ABC, NBC Universal, Aaron Spelling Productions and Morgan Creek and more.
Hectorlyne Wuor Jarmon is an LA based Film Producer. She is best known for producing feature films Hot Guys with Guns (Action-Comedy), Moo Moo and The Three Witches (Childrens), and Seventy-Nine (Thriller). Hectorlyne produced a web series, The Reason, which was selected as a finalist in the New York Television Festival in 2015. Hectorlyne also produced a short film, Blind Rage, which was a finalist for the audience awards at the 2016 Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival.
Hectorlyne worked full time at NBCUniversal from Feb 2014 to Sept 2016, as a Production and Finance Coordinator. In these roles she helped with the daily productions of Fashion Police, E! News and The Soup, as well as numerous Wilshire Studios pilot television shows. Hectorlyne was also on the NBC Live Event Production Team for The 2014 Academy Awards, The 2014 IHeartRadio Music Awards, The 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards and The 2015 Golden Globe Awards. She currently works at Waterproof Pictures as a Finance Manager.
